I have been sick since last Tuesday. That is almost a WEEK spent in bed, with the exception of dragging myself to work/class on Thursday and feeling a bit better (enough to shop :3) on Friday. Started with a cold, then hello UTI, and then the stupid antibiotics they gave me gave the worst stomach cramps EVER and I had to stay in bed for like 2 1/2 days. I FINALLY feel less like death now, but I'm still really glad I don't have to do anything but go to class at five. As much as I motherf-ing hate being sick, it was nice to just stay in bed for almost a week, lol. And spending the entire weekend in Jeremy's bed or asleep in his lap definitely could have been worse. It's nice having someone who makes even the shittiness of being sick a little bit better.

In other news, my library caught fire!! Like 10 minutes after I left on Thursday night. There was an electrical fire or something in the part they're renovating, and they had to evacuate the building and now it's closed all week because they have extensive clean up to do. Good side? I don't have to work all week! Bad side? That's like $180-ish I'm not getting. :(
Um um...I re-watched Veronica Mars season 2! I have rediscovered my deep love for Logan Echolls, although I am not as enamored of the violent little scamp as I once was. Season 2 really is a quality season, though, upon repeat watchings. Still not as solid as season 1, but when you re-watch you can see a lot of hints they dropped about the end earlier in the season that expected, given how WAITWHAT the ending was.

I have found some amazing websites. Such as:

Asian Poses

Let me google that for you.

Sweeeet. I love the internet. I've been in a cheery mood all day because tomorrow is AX! I was all stressed out yesterday because I had to pack and plan outfits, but now everything is DONE and I just have to drive home, have pizza with the mom and bro, then it's off to AX in the morning! I'm hoping Starry Candy Box has Memorial Cake...I was stalking the English AP site for like a WEEK and then the one morning I DON'T check, it gets uploaded. I wanted the skirt in white sooooo baaaaaaaad. Rawr.

Library today was fun! We found this hideously messed up area that we needed to re-shift, but instead of just one or two people shifting the area with a book truck, we created a human chain with half of our workers and two staff members and handed the books through and around the shelving ranges. It was pretty awesome.

Wow, I have been off the grid as it were for like a solid week. That's EONS for me. My internet at home was down, my internet here has been choppy, and I'm never on desk anymore at work. I'm having withdrawals.

So my "summer", which was all of like 12 days, was all right. Watched a lot of anime, internetted quite a bit, saw Courtney, spent time fighting/talking/making up with Joel. You know...stuff. It was nice to not have anything to do during the day, though. It's been a looooong time since that has been the case.

Now I'm back in Santa Cruz and very alone. Like, during the year I talk extensively to five people: Nicole and Trevor at work, Tiffany in class, Joel on breaks, and Gillian in the evening. Nicole is in LA, Tiffany has graduated and is off in the world, Joel is on his month long coutnry-wide road trip, and Gillian is in New York and then Ireland until July 5th. I still se Trevor at work, but omg I am so alone. It's both nice and terrifying. I don't mind it so much...until it's like 1 AM and I can't sleep because I hear noises. It's not like Gillian being there would make me much safer were someone to break in, but I dunno. I don't like sleeping in a house alone.

Other than the alone thing, work is INTENSE and I don't think I'm going to like the class I'm taking. Work is like 7 straight hours of shelving and sorting. One snack break, one lunch break. We're not supposed to listen to our headphones (everyone does anyway, but I always feel guilty and nervous). Shit is bananas. My class is "personal narratives" where we watch a movie in class, discuss it, watch a movie out of class, write about it, all the while creating our own personal narrative that we must "perform" at the end of the quarter. Fizzuck.

Good things! I'm wearing Lolita for the first time in weeks! Joel has actually been calling/texting me more than once a day! I've made it past the 100 episode mark in One Piece! My Popuri from Harvest Moon costume is coming alone nicely! Anime Expo next weekend! I'm going to indulge in sushi tonight! The lack of buses is making me walk more, and thus I'm actually exercising!

I lead an exciting life.

We've moved into the new library building. It is too small, the book are kind of out of order, and compact shelving may be the worst invention ever. It's a great space-saver, but the book shelves touch each other and we therefore have to move every single one to clean/shelve/etc. Bleh.

School is okay. Modern Japan is just more of the same for me, Japanese is a big stress-fest that I somehow enjoy, but Representations of Violent Women in American Popular Culture is interesting exactly as interesting as it sounds. We watched Tomb Raider in our last class, lol.

Mostly I'm just coasting along. I'm tired a lot, and I miss Joel, and my house is noisy and my library is different.

But I'm trying my darndest to remain optimistic because that is what Giselle would do. :)

There are FOUR other girls at my work with pink hair now! It is completely ridiculous! When it was just me and the CNS girl, it was funny and exciting. But then the reserve girl did it, and then some ILL girl did it, and now even Vicki, one of the bosses, has done it! I'm all for sharing the pink love but...I liked being the pink haired girl from the library. Now I'm just one of the pink haired girls at the library. :(

I am very very hungry.

I've been on the desk for FOUR HOURS. Mostly looking at Lolita stuff that I can never afford enough of, and therefore depressing myself.

Cloverfield at the drive in during a storm was the most amazing experience of my life.

I want to go home and I want Joel to spontaneously be there. We had a crappy weekend, as we always do when I go home, so I want him to be here so we can make up for it cuz we always do.

I need moneys. Blah.
I have been ridiculously chipper today. I got to be on the desk for two seperate hours and I talked to my library work friend and we're going to go see 27 dresses and I convinced one of my boss-ish type people to go see Cloverfield and we talked about Mothra and GOJIRA! and it was pretty exciting, but not exciting enough to demand this run on sentence which is how you can tell I'm a little hyper and very chipper and helpful feeling.

I really have no clue why I feel this way. I've been feeling like crap all week and it is RAINING and FREEZING COLD and I haven't finished all my homework that should have been finished by now, but somehow it all feels okay. Except for my right eye, which doesn't feel okay in fact it hurts and I think I may go to the doctor tomorrow afternoon so they can look at it and tell me if I have an eye disease or maybe a parasite! Omg!

My boss-ish friend-kinda at work made fun of me for saying "btw" outloud today. Whatevs! I'm young! I can use whatever kind of lame slang I want because I am cool like that! Cough.

I'm really excited about going to japan right now, but I am also very stressed out because they want our fall grades and I don't have one of them yet. Prof. Christy jumped on the FAILURE train for that one. James said that his father passed away, so he has an excuse, but its been a month. I have applications due, dude, I need my fucking grade.

...that is all.

I hate being on desk for more than one hour. I <3 the internet, but not so much at work for some reason. Probably because there is a) no sound and b) I can't click on "not safe for work" links because they are...not safe for work. And when you're going through a Mohinder/Sylar slash obsession, this becomes and issue. Certain 'ships seem to lend themselves to smut, and Mylar is DEFINITELY one of them.

I love having an obsession, and I love reading fic, but every time I stop for awhile and then I come back to it, I forget that most of it SUCKS. People do not know how to write characters believably, slash sometimes plots are just stupid. My least favorite of late have been "Sylar repents! Because he lovs Mohinder! And they raise Molly!" It's just so...never going to happen. And I'm all for AU, but I really can't picture, canonically, Sylar EVER repenting. I can see him going good-ish, but not being all "woe! I regret all the nummy braaains!" I dunno. Slash HE KILLED MOLLY'S PARENTS IN FRONT OF HER. No way is that girl EVER going to get over that enough for him to be one of her two...three...dads. Mylar fluff only works in the distant future or AU. Hot, dirty, angsty smexing...that works any old time. Which is, I think, why the fic tends to be so smutty, lol. That, and Mohinder and Sylar are smokin hot and have the kind of sexual tension you could cut with a knife.

I am having a VERY fangirly moment.

PS! I forgot I wanted to share this video with y'all. I think I could watch it forever and not get tired of it, lol.
So, for the past two and a half hours the library servers have been down and it has been HELL. We couldn't look any books up because cruzcat was down. Our main server was down, so we had to use the freakishly slow one to check in and out books. AND some music class has some big thing going on, so a crapload of kids were checking out the same couple of books and we had to put weird bookings and it was just crazy stressful. Like, seriously. But then the system spontaneously came back online and it is all okay.

I do, however, still have a headache and am still very hungry. The wonderful server reestablishment did not fix that, sadly.

One of the girls at my work is dressed as the Doctor!!!! 4th dcotor, but still!!

I am an evil doll. But, really, it's just an excuse to wear my gosurori dress. ;)

My goal for the evening is to scare somebody in the library, since I'm stuck here til 8:30 anyway.

I'm having a fun little mini-obsession with Doctor Who. David Tennant is just so very adorkable, and I don't usually even like that word. I was speaking in a British accent in my head all day today because of our marathon for the past two days.

I have to work a full 8 hour shift tomorrow. :( I fucking hate this job, srsly.

So one of my boss like people is freaking out because one of the other students is joining the coast guard and he, apparently, he really hates the military. The patrons were getting uncomfortable because of all the yelling. To me, however, it's hilariously funny because Michael, the boss guy, has a blue mohawk and it's just so very santa cruzian.

Lol. Is the coast guard even military?

So....working at the library rocks my socks. I've been here for 3 hours and 48 minutes and all I've done is shelve books, check a few out, and spend a lot of time on the internets. Because working at the desk involves mostly being on the internets.

Now I just have to go home and finish my mid-term paper...and by finish, I mean start. Yeah. Before VMars. And I have to eat. Work was actually a respite from the stress of today...bleh. 10 more minutes then it's back to paper I go.

I worked eight and a half hours today, with no break. It may not seem like THAT much, but I have never worked that much/long a day in my life. Ahhhh, I am so tired.

In other news, I have fours holes in my mouth. Please to don't poke/touch my cheeks, thank you.
Lame: I got a B in my creative writing class. Grarr.

Interesting (and disgusting): one of my co-workers told me a story today about a little kid who pooed on our floor at Movies to Go and how the dad noticed, and didn't say a thing. Ew.

Also, I miss Joel.
