book

I just checked in a book that smelled like fireworks. I am very curious as to why this is so...why would a book smell like fireworks?

This weekend was extremely blah. Had to help my dad move, went to the strawberry festival and ate not-so-good strawberry shortcake, Joel was all cranky...also, Lolita clothing gets a heck of a lot more comment in SM than it does in SC. This doesn't surprise me exactly, but I got really tired of explaining why I was so dressed up.

Half an hour left of work, groceries, Japanese homework, and then I can finally lie down and read Twilight. :)

Wait... people actually talk to you in SM? That's weird. Remember our "psych" project for honors bio where people were afraid to talk to you? I was in town as well this weekend for my mom's birthday. I didn't know about the Strawberry Festival until I got there, and I wanted to go! You have no idea how awful our strawberries are down here. We must be strawberry snobs! Where is your dad moving to? Want to help me move?

I do remember that experiment! That was funny. I guess I look less threatening now? Must not have been the pink hair...or it could be that dressing like a 5 year old ay 21 isn't super intimidating, lol.

It's funny because there were only like 5 booths actually devoted to strawberries at the strawberry festival. Three dessert ones and two that actually sold strawberries; it was slightly lame. But I'm sorry the strawberries in SD suck. :(

My dad was just moving to a new house in santa maria. It's really cute, actually. Its over by hancock and it was built in the fifties and is totally kitchy. When are you moving, where from, and where to? If it were possible, I would help you, but San Diego is prettu far away from Santa Cruz...

Well, I need to figure out where to store my stuff for a month, since my lease ends right after finals, and I don't want to pay rent when I won't be using the apartment. I would like to find a cheaper place here anyway, but that is difficult.

That part of SM sounds like where my dad lived when he was a kid. How funny!

First of all, it is awesome that a book smelt (I like that word, but I don't think it is one; actually i think it is a kind of fish) of fireworks. I too was in SM this past weekend and I wanted to go to the SF to get funnel cake with strawberries and whipped cream!

And OMG I'm so glad you're reading Twilight!!! If I was as fangirly as you I would totally be all fangirly about Twilight! Fun fact; written by a Mormon and it brings in a religious sort of element....and there's no sex, goddamit. BUT still a good series. Lindsey, you should read them too! Then we can all go to the midnight premiere of the 4th book this summer!

One of my co-workers is reading it too and we have been freaking out about it. It's so good!! Or, fascinating. It's like, it's cheesey and the writing is so young, but something just sucks you in! I think it's the sparkles. ;)

Dude I totally agree- the sparkles! And the vampire hotness. We can totally talk about the series this summer and if we're in town we can go to the midnight release party of Breaking Dawn...if there is one! I love Twilight! I love Edward....too bad it's written by a Morman so there's no SEX! Sadface.

I'm sure there will be a midnight party somewhere. I'd be willing to go to slo or sb for it. For me, it's kind of refreshing that it's just sensual instead of OMFGSEXSEXSEX because this other vampire series I read has turned into porn, and bad porn at that. Besides, that is what fanfiction is for.

That would be really fun! I have never been to one of those, sadly. Smelt is also a verb, it has something to do with doing something with metal.
